Westfield, Indiana — Our Home for Over 50 Years
Westfield's Financial Advisor, Born, Raised, and Still Here
John Sidery grew up in Westfield, graduated from Westfield High School, and comes from a family that has been part of this community for more than 50 years across three generations. Olympus Wealth Strategies isn't a branch office that opened because Westfield looked good on a map. This is home, and that changes how we show up for the people who trust us with their financial lives.

What We Stand For
Three Generations in This Community
Our family has been part of Westfield for over 50 years. That kind of history doesn't come from a franchise playbook. It comes from genuinely caring about the people who live here.
Fee-Only. We Work for You, Not a Product Company.
Olympus is compensated solely through fees paid by our clients. No commissions, no product revenue, no third-party payments of any kind. Our interests and yours point in the same direction.
Institutional Investment Access
We offer access to institutional-quality alternative investments and private markets, capabilities typically reserved for much larger institutions, alongside comprehensive financial planning.
CFP® and CPWA® Credentials
Certified Financial Planner and Certified Private Wealth Advisor. Two of the most demanding designations in financial planning, both held here in Westfield.
From Someone Who Grew Up Here
We Have Watched Westfield Grow, and We Understand What That Growth Means for Your Financial Life
There is a version of Westfield that existed long before Grand Park, before the US 31 overpass, before the subdivisions that now stretch across Washington Township. John Sidery grew up in that Westfield. His family has been part of this community for over 50 years, and watching the town grow into the city it is today has given us a perspective on this place that no out-of-state firm or franchise office can replicate.
That perspective matters when you're talking about money. Because financial planning isn't really about spreadsheets. It's about knowing what people in this community are actually going through. We know what it looks like to buy your first home in Countryside and suddenly realize your financial plan hasn't kept up. We know the specific pressures of running a small business near Grand Park. We know what it feels like to commute down 31 every day, earning a good living, and still wonder why it doesn't feel like enough is going toward the future.
These aren't abstractions to us. They're the conversations we have every week with neighbors, with former classmates, with families we've known for years. And they're exactly what drives the way we build financial plans: holistic, coordinated, and genuinely personal.
"My goal has always been to serve Westfield families the same way our family has served this community. With honesty, with real expertise, and with someone who actually picks up the phone."

Who We Work With
Westfield Is a Growing City. Its Residents Have Real, Complex Financial Lives.
Whether you've lived here for decades or just moved into one of the new neighborhoods off 31, we work with people at every stage of building, protecting, and eventually passing on what they've earned.
Young Families Putting Down Roots
You moved to Westfield for the schools, the neighborhood, the sense that this is a place worth building a life. Now comes the financial side of that: a mortgage, a 401(k) that needs attention, life insurance decisions, college savings for kids who are growing up faster than expected, and an estate plan you've been putting off. We help young Westfield families build a plan that actually keeps pace with their life.
Professionals Commuting the US 31 Corridor
You're earning a strong income working in Carmel, Indianapolis, or along the 31 corridor, and you know there's more you could be doing with it. Stock compensation, a 401(k) that hasn't been optimized, tax efficiency you haven't fully captured. We work with professionals who are ready to be more intentional about where their income is going and what it's building toward.
Business Owners in the Westfield Market
Westfield's commercial growth has created a real small business community, from service businesses near Grand Park to professional practices along the 31 corridor. If you own a business, your personal financial life and your business finances are deeply connected. We help owners build personal wealth alongside their business, structure things tax-efficiently, and start thinking about what an exit or transition actually looks like.
Pre-Retirees and Retirees
You've spent decades building. Now the questions shift. When do I claim Social Security? How do I draw down my accounts in the right order? What does Indiana's tax treatment of retirement income mean for me? How do I make sure what I've built actually gets to the people I care about? These are the conversations we have every day with long-time Westfield residents who want a plan that reflects everything they've worked for.
What We Do
A Complete Financial Plan, Not a Portfolio with a Brochure Attached
Most advisors manage your investments. We coordinate your entire financial life, because investment decisions affect your taxes, your taxes affect your estate plan, and your estate plan affects what your family receives. None of these things live in isolation, and your plan shouldn't either.
One thing that genuinely sets Olympus apart: we provide access to institutional-quality alternative investments and private markets. These are investment opportunities, including private equity, private credit, and real assets, that have historically been available only to large endowments and institutions. We make them accessible as part of a thoughtfully constructed financial plan for qualified clients. It is a meaningful capability that most local advisory firms simply cannot offer.
Wealth Management
Portfolio construction and ongoing management designed around your full picture, including access to institutional alternative investments and private markets for qualified clients. Individual results vary based on market conditions and personal circumstances.
Tax Planning
Year-round tax strategy covering Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting, asset location, charitable giving structures, and Indiana-specific planning, all coordinated with your investments throughout the year.
Retirement Planning
401(k) strategy, IRA planning, Social Security timing, and a retirement income plan built for Indiana's tax environment and your specific cost-of-living goals.
Estate Planning
Coordination with your estate attorney to make sure your wills, trusts, and beneficiary designations align with your financial plan, not just with each other.
Insurance and Risk Management
Life, disability, and long-term care coverage reviewed without commission pressure, focused on protecting what matters without selling you what you don't need.
Business Owner Planning
Retirement plan design, S-Corp tax strategy, exit planning, and succession guidance for Westfield business owners who need a plan that handles both their business and their personal financial life.
Why It Matters
Fee-Only and Fiduciary. Two Words That Should Matter a Lot to You.
We realize these terms get thrown around a lot in our industry. Here is what they actually mean in plain language, and why we think they matter for anyone in Westfield looking for a financial advisor.
Fee-only means Olympus is paid exclusively by you. We charge a transparent fee based on the assets we manage on your behalf. That is it. We earn no commissions from insurance products. We receive no payments from investment fund companies. No third party compensates us for recommending anything. When we suggest a course of action, it is because we believe it is right for you, not because it pays us more.
Fiduciary means we are legally required to act in your best interest at all times. Not just when it is convenient, not just for certain services, not just when a regulator is watching. It is the highest legal standard of care that exists in financial advising, and it is the standard we operate under every day.
Not every advisor in Westfield can say both of those things. We believe you deserve to know the difference before you choose who to trust with your financial life.
Questions Worth Asking Any Advisor
Are you a fiduciary for every service you provide, and will you put that in writing?
Are you fee-only? Do you receive commissions, product revenue, or any third-party compensation?
Do you coordinate investments with my taxes, estate plan, and insurance, or just manage the portfolio?
Who actually holds my assets, your firm or an independent third-party custodian?
How Olympus Answers
Always fiduciary. Fee-only with no commissions and no exceptions. Full-suite coordination across your entire financial picture. Assets held at Charles Schwab, not at Olympus.
Good Questions Deserve Honest Answers
What Westfield Residents Ask Us Most
What is a normal fee for a financial advisor in Westfield, IN?
For a fee-only independent RIA, the typical range is between 0.5% and 1.5% of assets under management annually, with fees generally decreasing as portfolio size grows. At Olympus, you pay a transparent AUM-based fee and nothing else. No commissions, no product markups, no hidden charges. Before engaging any advisor, ask them for a complete written fee schedule and ask whether they receive any other compensation beyond what you pay them directly.
What are the red flags when evaluating a financial advisor?
A few to watch for: an advisor who hedges when you ask if they are a fiduciary; compensation that includes commissions or undisclosed product-based payments; a scope limited to investment management with no real engagement on taxes, estate planning, or insurance; and any pressure to move fast before you've had time to review their Form ADV, the SEC disclosure document every registered investment advisor must file. You can verify any advisor's registration and check for disciplinary history at adviserinfo.sec.gov.
Is a CPA better than a financial advisor?
They serve different purposes, and the most effective financial plans involve both. A CPA focuses primarily on tax compliance and preparation. A financial advisor who does proactive tax planning focuses on strategy throughout the year: how to structure income, investments, and withdrawals to reduce what you owe over time. The two roles complement each other, and Olympus coordinates directly with your CPA as part of a holistic plan. If you don't have a CPA, we can help you find one worth working with.
How much money do I need before working with a financial advisor?
There is no universal answer, and honestly, the more useful question is whether you have meaningful financial decisions in front of you. A young family navigating a first home purchase in Westfield, a professional with equity compensation for the first time, or a business owner starting to think about what comes next — all of these situations benefit from planning regardless of the current account balance. At Olympus, we start with a conversation and let that guide whether and how we work together.
What should I not say to a financial advisor?
Nothing, and that is the honest answer. The more complete a picture your advisor has, the more useful the plan they can build. That means being open about debt, past financial decisions you regret, complicated family situations, and business challenges you haven't fully worked out. A good advisor is not there to judge where you've been. We are here to help you get to where you want to go. If you ever feel like you need to filter or hide information from your advisor, that is a sign the relationship is not the right one.
Let's Start a Conversation
Twenty Minutes. No Obligation. Just an Honest Conversation About Your Financial Life.
We offer a free 20-minute introductory call. Not a sales pitch, not a presentation. Just a real conversation where we learn about your situation, you learn how we work, and we both figure out whether this is a good fit. If it is not, we will tell you that honestly and point you in a better direction.
If you have worked with John before and want to continue that relationship at Olympus, we would love to hear from you. If you are new to us and just want to understand what fee-only fiduciary planning actually looks like in practice, that conversation is always welcome. We are on Union Street. We are your neighbors. Come talk to us.
